Gushee is a respected Christian ethicist who has little to gain and much to lose within American Christianity by writing this book. Still, he makes a persuasive case for LGBTQ affirmation in the church. His interpretive path notably travels through interpreting Scripture through the lens of Jesus. Bravo.

Simply lovely and delightful. It’s somehow as if Wendell Berry started writing sci-fi short stories. I will be coming back to this one for sure.

Perhaps it’s a fair summary of Luther’s teaching, but the author fawns over Luther to the point it feels disgusting.
