"Don't shoot; I'm a white man."
I hate that ERB is fairly successful at writing (bad) adventure novels because his racism ruins it every time! Like, this could have just been a story about a guy finding an island lost in time, but no it is evident that ERB seriously thought Polynesians were savages jfc!!!
So it's like 1.5 stars but no this book is not "okay."

Okay I liked this book, it's alright science fantasy, heavy on the fantasy...
But god the relationship between the main characters is awful and doesn't even really matter to the story. The story isn't improved in anyway by its marginal inclusion, it's just baffling. Why why why it's so gross

This book is odd to me because this series is usually so rigorous—this book doesn't even have references! I can understand many criticisms of Common Core but this is written by (and for) the aggrieved parent-activist, not the professor of political theory.
I should have just read some John Dewey lol
